World Usability Day
November 12th is World Usability Day, a global celebration of making our world work better with technology that serves our needs. This year's theme is Innovation.
In the Toledo region, we are celebrating World Usability Day in conjunction with Pitch and Pour, the business competition by LaunchPad Incubation at the University of Toledo.
User experience professionals and designers are invited to join local entrepreneurs, investors and creative talent at one of the key gatherings of our tech startup community.
Pitch and Pour will be Thursday, November 12th, 2015, starting at 5:30pm, at Nitschke Technology Commercialization Complex on the UT campus.
Enjoy local craft beer and buy dinner from one of the food trucks in the parking lot. You might even learn something about innovative user experiences.
How Pitch and Pour Works
- People with business ideas, startup companies, or established companies exploring new products apply.
- A selection committee reviews the applications, interviews a set of semi-finalists, then selects the final set of teams to pitch.
- The teams get coaching to help them prepare their pitches.
- At the event, each team gets 5 minutes & 5 slides to pitch to the judges and the audience of potential investors and the community
- The judges select the winners and prizes are awarded.
- Before and after the pitches, the community enjoys food and beverages and networks.
